Hons Investigations is located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We are located on the Eastern Border of North Dakota, bordering East Grand Forks, Minnesota. This is known as the Red River Valley. Named after the Red River of the North that sets the border between the states. This is also the only river in the United States that flows North into Canada instead of flowing South. The Red River Valley has some of the most fertile ground in the Nation, and the major industry here is sugar beet and potato farming.
Due to the close proximity of Minnesota, we are licensed in both states. Canada is located seventy miles to the North, with Winnipeg Manitoba only 140 miles away. Fargo, North Dakota is located 70 miles to the South, and we conduct a large amount of investigations there as well. We also have an investigator stationed on the Eastern edge if Montana that handles case in Western North Dakota.

Russell attended the University of North Dakota and studied Criminal Justice and Sociology. Russell founded Hons Investigations in 1992, after working for several security and investigation firms in the area. He is an experienced investigator and Insurance adjuster. He has extensive continuing education in Legal , Workers Compensation, Child Custody, Auto Accident, and Insurance Claims Investigations, as well as Photography and Service of Process. He has secured many return clients including major insurance companies, railroads, government agencies, and large law firms. He is actively involved in a large number of investigations assigned to Hons Investigations. He has been featured in local, regional and national publications, most recently, the Spring Issue of PI Magazine, as well as numerous radio and television programs. In July of 1999 Russell was appointed to the North Dakota Private Investigations and Security Board, by North Dakota Governor Ed Schafer, for a four year term on this regulatory board. In 2003 he was Re-Appointed by Governor John Hoeven. He is currently serving in his 5th year as the Chairman of this Board.
